- Where I Grew Up
- Where I Teach
- Some Places I Have Traveled: Costa Rico, California (Monterey, San Francisco, Yosemite National Park), and Grand Canyon
At the beginning of the video, you will learn that my hometown, Long Beach, NY, was destroyed by Hurricane Sandy, which hit the East Coast of the US fall 2013. Many of the coastal towns along the East Coast suffered damage. I live in Connecticut now, and we also suffered damage. The town where I grew up, Long Beach, is a small island. It is less than a half a mile wide at its widest point, and the whole town was covered with water that was more than one-story high. This meant that houses were flooded, schools got ruined, and cars were demolished from the water damage. The elementary school I attended closed for the year, and finally re-opened after it was rebuilt. Many students lost days of school, and all the schools in the town closed.
Well, let me know if you have questions about the town where I lived, the place where I work (University of Saint Joseph), or some of the places I traveled. If you could travel anywhere in the world, what place would you pick and why?
